Communication Fundamentals

The beginning of everything we do with horses is based on them believing we care, and that they are considered in all that we do.

How do we start that conversation? I can help facilitate that.

This is not a typical liberty clinic where the instructor shows you how to get your horse to perform maneuvers without a lead rope on in a round pen.

The way I present it is about holding space to discover how an authentic two-way conversation between each horse and their human can look and feel.

Each partnership is unique, but one thing is universal- we all want to be seen and heard.

Would you be able to recognize your horse’s small and polite “I’m unsure about that” or does it have to reach “NO WAY!” before you could identify it as a "no"? This is important.

How do we give our horses a voice without foregoing our own agency?

These small group clinics provide a safe and supportive atmosphere for transformation to occur. We will have group sessions on ground work designed around setting the stage for care, safety, and relaxation in the mornings, and individual sessions at liberty in the afternoons.

No previous liberty experience required.

We will explore:

  • Liberty concepts. What happens when you take the halter off?
  • Learning how to use and adjust your own particular type of energy.
  • Moving space vs moving body parts.
  • What if you ask your horse a question and the answer is "No"?
  • What does empowerment look like in the horse? In the human?
  • Why is it so important to stay present when you are with your horse?
  • and much more on this journey towards a true two-way conversation.

This is a groundwork only clinic, no riding.

Get the best of both worlds - the benefit of a small group, along with plenty of time for individual attention.

Limited to only 6 participants. I keep class size small to foster the best learning environment for you and your horse.

A few auditor positions are available and require pre-registration on the website

This clinic format will incorporate theory sessions/discussions, group sessions with horses on line(ropes attached), and individual liberty sessions.
